THE BODY TYPE : COLUMN

Gwyneth Paltrow is a perfect example of the body shape, The Column. The figure is straight and slender, which means the shoulder width is the same as the hip width. They have a slight waist, longer legs, and they don’t have much of a bust, tummy or bottom. The Column figure can at times appear shapeless, too thin and child-like, but they have a very good body shape and it's easy to dress to impress.

The most important guidelines.
- The key to making The Column look great is to try to introduce a little shape.
- Go for round necklines, soft fabrics and dramatic cuts for your upper body.
- Anything angular or bold draws the gaze to it's extreme edges, and this gives the illusion of shape.
- Avoid anything that just hangs straight down or is shapeless and has no detail.
- Remember to emphasize the waist.

There is really not much more advice to give the Column. Just emphasise the waist and avoid anything that just hangs shapelessly and you're done!

THE BODY TYPE : PEAR

The classic Pear has small boobs, long waist, flat tummy, great arms, saddlebags and heavy legs. The shape has a rather unfair negative image, when in fact, this body shape has lots of advantages. There is often the idea that Pears are overweight, but it doesn't mean one have to be chubby because the bottom half is bigger than the rest.
Pears have a lot of the good stuff going on. Just look at all these famous pear shaped women, strutting their stuff, and being proud of their "big" bottom.
To sum it up, you have the same body type as Beyonce, need I say no more?

The most important guidelines.
- It's terribly hard to find something that's unflattering on Beyonce, that said, I found some things. To no surprise at all it is the worst enemy of the Pear shape, the jodhpur, harem and cropped pants. Wide-legged trousers with a flat front, or firm normal-waist jeans are a much better match for the Pear figure.
- If you have very wobbly legs, then best not to wear shorts and mini skirts. High heals and some firming pantyhose might help a little though.
- Ankle strap ballerinas in a dark color is really unflattering for your curvy legs. Skin colored, chunky, straight heels with platform does your legs justice.
- With the Pear shape, Its just a question of balancing everything below the waist. Wear big earrings and necklaces, flashy tops, puff sleeves and layering.

Just keep the focus on your lovely slim top and love the junk in your trunk.

NEVER WEAR:

Be careful with short skirts and pencil skirts.
Jodhpurs.

There are just so many fabulous pears that I had to use them all, and hopefully it will make up for the body shape's bad reputation.

THE BODY TYPE : GOBLET

Catherine Zeta Jones is a Goblet, wich is a very top heavy shape similar to the Cornet and Lollipop in many ways, but there are some differences. They have broad shoulders and a wide back, big boobs, not much of a waist, narrow hips, often a bit of a tummy and long legs (Some have a lot of tummy). Even though they have female curves, there is a big tendency for clothes making them look a bit boxy, square and masculine.
It’s just a case of accentuating the positive which is those lovely long legs and good bust line.

The most important guidelines.
- Anything square, chunky, to covering, or loose will make your figure look disproportionate and create an extreme version of the figure.
- Make sure to accentuate the space under your breast with a belt or something tightly fit, so your breast don't look saggy.
- Empire-line cuts, panelled skirts in a heavy fabric, or folded material will help cover the tummy for those who have it.
- Short skirts and high heels show those lovely long legs.
- Fluted skirts and ballon-sleeves helps you create curves in the areas that have less.
- Belts and pattern will help you break up and separate the different body elements for the curves to show through.
- Don’t be afraid to invest in some good shape-wear to smooth any lumps and further enhance your shape.
- Also make sure to have a great bras to keep those boobs up and away from your waist.

Remember, some of the world’s most attractive women are Goblets, so make the most of what you've got because you've got a lot of good stuff.
