BODY TYPE BELL : YOUR BEST LOOKS

12/10/2013

Picture

The very feminine Bell has small shoulders, small boobs, small and short waist, big thighs and a large bottom.
For the Bell it is all about creating balance. The rules are about balance, but curves are fabulous either way so feel free to flaunt them.
Picture
An eye-catching, elaborate necklace is a great way to bring focus and attention to the neatness part of your upper frame. Bright, pretty or cool scarves will also do the trick.
The Cone heal shoe has the thickness to balance your bottom half, combined with the delicacy of the pointy tip. Together this shoe is very feminine and shows off your slim ankles. Keep the shoes very simple at the front and avoid ankle straps or t-bars.

Picture
A narrow neckline broadens the shoulders. The Bell has a short waist so normal tops can be too long. The Petite department has a better top length for you.
Picture
A draped neckline adds bulk to your top half. Avoid too much bare flesh at the neck, a narrow neckline is more flattering and broadens the shoulders.
Picture
Tight and narrow necklines
broadens the shoulders. Long sleeves extend the line of the shoulders.
Picture
Thigh length kaftan with narrow neckline broadens the shoulders. Details around the neckline brings attention upwards.
Picture
Chinese and princess collars are very flattering for the Bell figure. Many shapes can't wear them, so enjoy.
Picture
Ruffled shirt with narrow neckline. The neckline is cut close to the neck, widening the shoulders. The tiny ruffles add bulk to your top half, and the line between the ruffles and the shirt enhances the waist.
Picture
Thigh skimming thigh length kaftan. Details around the neckline brings attention upwards.
Picture
Draped necklines such as this Cowl neck jumper adds bulk to your top half and broadens the shoulders.
Long sleeves extend the line of the shoulders.
Picture
The bulky gilet balances the top half without compromising the waist. Make sure it ends at the top of your hips or have a belt (or something else fitted) in the waist.

Picture
Wide waist dress with tight neckline and t-shirt sleeves extend the shoulder line. The slightly flared skirt doesn't cling to the hips, but or thighs. A wide waistline or wide belts are great for elongating the waist.
Picture
Tight neckline dress, with cap sleeves, adds a little to the shoulder width. Paired with a slightly flared skirt that doesn't cling to the hips, but or thighs. A wide waistline or wide belts are great for elongating the waist.

Narrow neckline dress with long sleeves, extend the line of the shoulders. The skirt is slightly flared and doesn't cling to the hips, but or thighs. Belted waist.

A-line shirt dress. The narrow neckline and the longer sleeves extend the line of the shoulders. Pair it with a wide belt to show off your neat waist with out shortening it.

Chinese collar dress broadens the shoulders and a long sleeve extend the line of the shoulders.  Make sure everything above the waist is fitted.

A kick pleat skirt in a heavy fabric offers support, and the kick pleat in it self allows freedom to move.
A-line skirts are also a good fit for the Bell shape. If you're up for showing your extreme curves down below, a fitted/ elastic skirt in a structured thick material will work (for the Bells that feel in shape).
Go for darker colors on your bottom half, to create balance.

Side fastening, loose and flowing trousers.
Stay away from pockets on your pants, and tapered trousers. Pants can be a challenge for the Bell shape, but here is nothing wrong with a pair of flattering skinny jeans (firm elastic fabric), or leggings. Just make sure to consider how to wear them and what to pair it with.

Blazer or jackets that ends at the hip bone. The styles with a bulky and tight neckline will broaden the shoulders.

Funnel coats and similar styles.
Coats are great on the Bell, all year around and the styles with a bulky and tight neckline will broaden the shoulders.
The buttons are strategically placed high up on the chest, to draw attention to the top half. The A-line skirt flares at the most flattering part. Remember that coats that are too long will make your legs look short.

Roundness is the defining feature of the Apple body shape. You have average tits, the tummy is bigger than the tits, quite flat bum and ok legs. For the Apple it is all about drawing attention to the best parts.
Picture
A bra and some shaping underwear might be the most important items an Apple figure can wear. It will do wonders for how you feel about clothing. The Apple is defined by it's roundness and the right underwear will make sure you give focus to the correct assets, such as the amazing boobs. The Apple is definitely a sexy figure, just look at Supermodel Beth Ditto, and remember to flaunt your curves with as much pride as she does.
A wide-open neckline is one of your best weapons.
Combining plain and print, or plain and texture breaks up and re-shapes the silhouette (Good for balancing the tummy area). Experiment with colors, textures and patterns. Look to Beth Ditto and Rebel Wilson for inspiration.

Higher and small, shaped wedge shoes gives stability, while still showing off the shapeliness of the calves and ankles.

Ruched on the middle T-shirt. The small gathers will confuse the eye into not knowing which bit is flab and which is fabric. Make sure the top is long enough to cover the tummy. A wide neck-opening breaks up the size of the chest, and the softly draped sleeves won't cut into the arms.
Picture
The gathered knot draws attention to the chest. The gathers confuse the eye into not knowing which bit is flab and which is fabric. A wide V-neck breaks up the size of the chest.
Picture
The Empire-line, semi-fitted top skims the tummy and creates a waist, by cutting the figure at the most narrow point (directly under the boobs). The wide V-neck breaks up the size of the chest, and the softly draped sleeves won't cut into the arms.

Scoop neck breaks up the size of the chest.

Picture
Empire-line, knotted, slightly flared dress with t-shirt sleeves.
Picture
Wide V-neck wrap dress with straight skirt. Knee length.
Picture
The belt enhances waist and the bow covers the tummy. This must be done perfectly to work. If the bow is too large or puffy, you can end up looking like a large present.
Picture
The bodice lift the boobs, and he ruching and pleating across the top covers any lumps and bumps. The mesh jacket covers the arms. Combined with a slightly flared skirt it gives the figure balance and sexy curves.
Picture
Skirt with pleats starting below the tummy. The Apple shape should always wear side fastening and flat fronted skirts. The inverted box pleats start below the tummy so they don't add extra bulk.

Picture
Straight jacket with texture worn open against a contrasting fabric, will break the body up into three long, slim slices. The small pattern divert the eye to avoid looking like one big block of color. Combined with wide-legged pants this is a very flattering way of wearing a "suit".
Picture
Flat-fronted trousers with a deep waistband.
Find a pair that is side fastening, so it doesn't create more bulk around the tummy. Make sure the material doesn't cling to the bum or thighs.

Buy the coat to fit your shoulders and not your tummy, and use a scarf to keep warm in the middle.

The button detail and slight flare of this coat will winch you in and create a waist effect. For a short Apple, make sure the coat length is above the knee.

BODY TYPE COLUMN : YOUR BEST LOOKS

2/10/2013

Picture
Picture

The Column figure is straight and slender. The shoulder width is the same as your hip width. A slight waist, longer legs and they don’t have much of a bust, tummy or bottom. The Column is perfectly proportioned, so no need to play down any body part. For the Column it is all about creating a little bit of curve.
Picture
The Column is the the one shape who looks absolutely great in the "Boyfriend look". Angular shapes and rounded cuts are good for giving the Column figure the little extra shape to avoid looking too straight up and down. Fluted and flared sleeves and skirts will also do the trick.
Keep the accessories big, bold and as a statement to the outfit. Avoid anything too thin or dangly, like bangles and little bags on long straps.
Picture
The heel should not be too thin, not too thick, just perfectly balanced. Other than that you can get away with any style shoe. Flats are as good as heels.
Picture

Picture
Round-neck tank top. The round neckline softens the straight Column lines. Sleeveless cut also work for the Column.
Picture
Round-neck T-shirt. The round neckline softens the straight Column lines. Any sleeve cut will do.
Picture
Round-neck jumper. The round neckline softens the straight Column lines. Full length or elbow length sleeves work best for the Column.
Picture
Sweetheart neckline and peplum tops create curves and softens straight figures. Use together or separately. Columns are great in fitted things as well.
Picture
Shaped and gathered shirt or blouse. Wear the sleeves at full length or fold them up to elbow length. Gathering or pleating curves the figure.
Picture
Fitted shirt.
Look for double cuffs to make sure the sleeves are long enough for the long column arms.

Picture
A-line skirts are good for exaggerating and creating curves. The rounded neckline, fitted top softens and curves the top half, making the waist look tiny.
Picture
Dress with long fluted sleeves. The fluted sleeves add volume at the extremities.
Picture
Angular, fitted dress with all lines and folds pointing to the middle, is great for exaggerating and creating curves.
Picture
A dramatic angle asymmetric dress is great for breaking up the Column shape. Combined with a fitted waist and a gently flared skirt, the dress shows off the long slender column figure at the same time as it enhances any natural curves.
Picture
The best dresses for the Column are dresses that creates curves. The Gathering and pleating create separate and distinct areas defined by their texture. The shoulder-piece builds out the shoulders, the waist is nipped in, the hips are broadened by the fan-effect stripes in the material, and the mermaid skirt exaggerates the curves. This style dress creates curves in all the right places, still showing of the long slender column figure.
Picture
The Column figure can get away with cut away sleeves and turtlenecks (which is bad for so many other body types). Combined with a fitted waist and a gently flared skirt, the dress shows off the long slender column figure at the same time as it enhances any natural curves.

Picture
Even though the Column is great in any style pants, the Slightly flared trousers gives a hint of shape to the straight figure.
Picture
Cropped trousers, shorts and capri pants are great to break up and show off those long Column legs.
Picture
Skinny jeans, straight legged, flared, high waisted, regular rise, pleated, you name it. Any style pants work on the perfectly balanced Column figure.

Picture
Picture
Picture
Angular, single button jacket (or zip). Angular shapes are great for the Column figure, especially if every line points to the middle. Pointy shoulders, strategically placed lapels or pockets, flared or ballooned sleeves, pointed hemline, fitted waist with single button fastening, or belts, do that exact thing.
